July 18 Da Vincci not decodedDa Vincci not Decoded
It is almost 1.00 am when I finished watching "the Da Vincci Declassified" - documentary showed in Discovery Channal. Seem like everyone really can't get enough of mysteries surrounding Leonardo Da Vincci and suddenly everyone is an expert on "The Da Vincci Code". Anyway, there are some interesting stuffs showed in the documentary:
- Da Vincci meaning the Vincci town. Leonardo is born in a small town by the name of Vincci, near Tuscany in Italy. So Leonardo Da Vincci means Leonardo from the Vincci Town.
- Leonordo is very Tu Lan when ppl called him Da Vincci.
- Leonardo have no idea what time management is. His work is usually in a mess and always can't complete on time (most of the time he never finished his works).
- More and more ppl come to visit Louvre Museum mainly to look at Leonardo's painting because of "Da Vincci Code". There are organized tours using " Da Vincci Code" as the tour theme.
What can I siad :
- Very boring with anything that have the title " Da Vincci XXX". Book shops are flooded with the so called "XX Da Vincci" type book. Everyone try to get thier feet into the $$$$$ pool.
- Lots of ppl is infected with self inludged "Da Vincci code" expert desease ever since Dan Brown novel debut. Suddenly everyone can tell you if there is any hidden secret in Leonardo painitng. Come on la. sometime painting is just purely painting, nothing else. Anyway I have no proof also to say it is that simple. Only Sky know and Leonardo know.
- I think we are lively in Conspiracy Golden Era. Everything has a conspiracy theory. The Da Vincci Code is a good example. To further quote a few more: JFK assasination, UFO, Roswell little green man, 911,...etc.
- err..... feel sleepy now, will continue later.

Last December trip like ants wondering in Bangkok, there is not end, days of exploring, only a fraction of area covered. Huge building, endless shopping mall & shops, countless Tom Yam Kong, unlimited Singha, lots of ppl... hahhah
Findings:
- Tom Yam Kong is not spicy but very sour
- Propaganda stuffs are cheap
- Chatuchak is too big ( 2 days not enough)
- Taxi is not expensive
- Need to know how to speak 1,2,3...10, 100, in Thai language
- If u look like local the waiter will give u the menu in Thai language
- don't step on coin, cause one face of the coin has the King image
- avoid take tut tut at night, very dangerous cause driver drive very fast
- China town has lots of shark fin restaurant
- Old dragon open at 8.00pm
P/S: Even dream of shopping for couples of nights after the trip ^_^ December 21 May be we are Robot descendantLast couples of night, I replay Matrix trilogy DVD + AniMatrix on TV, they are still very entertaining...
Suddenly I got an idea: " May be we are Robot descedant" May be we are not evolve from monkey at all and have nothing to do with Genesis, but a creation by a race of Robot or even evolved from robot.
And that bring up a question : "if we are evolve from robot, why are we not evolve in such a way that we have perpetual life? Is it more perfect to have cycle of life & death?" The well known robot LVX-1 (Robot Dreams by Isaac Asimov) and Andrew the robot (Bicentenial Man, 1999) could be a flash of recollection or fragmental memory buried in DNA of our distance robot ancestor.
Same theory applied, like the matrix movie, you have a choice of continue to live in a perfect world (in the matrix be a parts of the robot) or wake up to face the in-perfect world (out side matrix).
Which is more interesting? you have to make up your own mind, either one: the would be robot or not to be

December 02 It is all in your mind... or out ??!!Solaris (2002, US) & Solyaris (1972, USSR), both based on the same novel by Stanislav Lem. Both good movie. No action or stunt. The dialogs are classic.
It tell a simple plot : People like to see or hear what they like. When the dead is return from the creation based on your memory. Can you accept it as a gift or a threat to your own existent since you can always create a clone of yourself with the risk of being replace by the clone that live on your memory.
but if given the chance, are you willing to give it a try?
November 29 The Speed of SoundJust Imagine:
Your average car running at 110 ~ 120 km/h (due to speed limit of most malaysia highway) while this car, the "Thrust SSC" run at 1227.98 Km/h (no speed limit if you try in desert).
I would said our PDRM super-turbo police car will only see dust . Thrust SSC will reach Singapore in less than one hour ! If you forget to brake in time, you will overshoot Singapore & go straight into sea....
It has been 8 years ever since this world record was set in Black Rock Desert, Nevada USA on 15 Oct 1997 and yet the record still hold until this very day. At that time, I was in Coventry Uni watching live broadcast & the whole schools of engineering erupted into cheers when the records was set since Coventry Uni was the part of engineering design team. They even have a celebration & welcoming parade for the Thrust SSC & the team. Tthe pilot & all the team member were present for the exhibition at Coventry Transport Museum for autograph. Of cause there were party throw by Coventry city hall & university... a lots of FOC beer :D (drink until u die one)
I still have the Thrust SSC poster with the Pilot (Andy Green) & Cheif designer (Glynne Bowsher) signatures, not sure will it become a collector item bo :P November 08 UB 313 is not UB 40 upgradeUB 313 Bio statistic : -

UB 313 is another new addition to our solar's brothers, first knew of it when I came across it in magazine, I think the ppl who discovered it run out of ideas and just name it UB 313 (not very exciting name, keep reminding me of UB 40), and they nickname it Xena (.....mmm this anstronomer must be a fan of Xena). When it came to naming the stars, I think we kind of lack of imagination, why not we name them with emotion, expression in any languages? But come to think of it, we might have enough words of emotion or expression to name trillion trillion of stars if we add some number & symbol also e.g. "sorrow 100%" "Sexy #$@" " 0 fun" "smelly 4" "$サヨナラ $" “死啊!" "Actung XX" something like these ?? :P
It would be more fun when we look up into the stary night and said "Look at Sorrow 100%, it was so beutiful ,.. blar blar "
hahaha... by then astoromony will not be a difficult subject since we can remmeber the planet/stars name easily. Has anyone propose this to the IUA (International Astronomical Union)? Just a my 2 sen.
October 14 Dumas Club RevisitNever get enough of Dumas Club, remembering last year during my first visit...... oh men mind-boggling ~~~
Ever since I watched "the Nine Gate" which is sort of occult movie back in 2002, it was some how hooked to the back of my mind for some time. Even though the movie S**K (Johnny Depp always get to play weird character), the idea was intriguing enough for me to find out who is the original writer. It turn out to be based loosely on Novel by Arturo Perez-Reverte " El Club Dumas" http://www.bastulli.com/perez-reverte/perez-reverte.htm From the orignal story, it has something to do with Alexandre Dumas' manuscript (The three Musketeers), but the movie didn't show it, which I think that's wat the movie really lack of.
Finally I manage to get hold of the english version of "El Club Dumas (the Dumas Club)" in 2004. Can't help my self, keep going on reading, I finished it in 4 days ~
 . What can I said....the book, it really it make me asking if there really a hidden sceret in three Musketeers? Is the 17th century occult books - Novem Portis de Umbrarum Regni (in English : Nine Doors of the Kingdoms of Shadows) real with all those Fancy & make believe occult engraving!When I read "Da Vinci Code", automatically I compare it to "The Dumas Club", still I find the later is superior in plots and depth (Coincidently both stories based on real world famous celebrity : Da Vinci & Alexendre Dumas respectively)
The last line read: " Everyone gets the Devil he deserves" ... surely all of us do

On 1st of Oct, I really ventured into no man land watching this movie, can't believe the rating on the movie review is 6 out of 8 stars...... my neighbour's dog has more IQ juice than then non-zombie charactors.
Anyway if u really wan to have a fun scary movie, look out for the Shaun of the dead....

September 05 Huanted or self inflict illusion ?!Recently my collegue bring back some gossip during his trip to Taipei;
Here is an executive summary of what he claimed:
" errr..... u know, i have no problem to ZZZZzzz alone in hotel. I don't feel wierd or isolation... but u know I got this funny feeling that I have been ...eerr... how I going to put it eerr...something a bit fishy. I was in this hotel and the night was happened to be Chinese ghost festival ( I only found out the next day..) ,... as usual I work like Hell the whole day & nothing got done,... pretty P*$& off to have to go back to work on Sat day.. I think I'm pretty wear out when I reached the hotel and straight go to bed, i put my glasses & watch on the table beside the bed ...and drop death (forget to brush teeth/ taking a bath....don't feel stinky anyway). U know what happened the next day ???!!!!!! my glasses was broken & my watch's belt was broken tooo oooo..... WTF ?? Wat a bad start for a day..........of cause I'm so p@#$% again not to realized wat happened...... not until I was back in office and talk to you guys. ...... I think met "something" during that night at the hotel ~~~~ @_@, and F$%@#,..."
so what can we do to made him feel better? We told his boss that this poor chap is working too hard under huge pressure due to very short lead time that he think he saw something weird !
His boss seem to understand the issue now, and he told the chap: " take your own sweet time to finish your job, don't worry about leadtime, just make sure it is done". He was sent back to the same "huanted" hotel for 3 weeks!
Hope he is back in one piece :P
